Bahraini company introduces e-donation for the first time and achieves success

Gulf Gate's CEO, Emad Al Asfour, said that about 7% of donations to charities are done electronically, with the expansion of funds to use electronic solutions in donations. .

Charities managed to collect tens of thousands of dinars for charity donations in record time through electronic donation during the holy month of Ramadan this year, as the company's technology greatly facilitated the provision of donations and the launch of charity campaigns.

Al-Asfour said that his company, which started launching an electronic payment gateway before going to e-donation, did not expect the e-donation project to achieve this degree of success.

Bab Al Bahrain was founded in 2000, while the company launched the geetee ePayment portal in 2011, which has been developed through this portal to suit the nature of charities since 2012.

"There was a quick and unexpected response from the Isa Town Charity Society, and we started the service in record time. We currently have 30 associations using this service," Al-Asfour said.

Asfour explained that in 2018 a number of charitable campaigns were organized, of which electronic donations formed a large part.

He pointed out that “Khair Plus” is the first project of its kind in Bahrain where he contributed to the introduction of e-donation for the first time in the Kingdom and promoted the culture of e-donation and foundations for cultural, technical and official infrastructure in this field.

He pointed out that the objective of the project is to integrate technology and digital solutions in social and charitable projects. The project introduced electronic donation technology for the first time in Bahrain, and played a role in establishing a cultural, technical and official infrastructure in the field of electronic donation. , Providing tens of thousands of dinars to institutions.
